Moto X 2nd gen finally gets treated to Android Lollipop 5.0 update in India

Motorola’s Moto X 2nd gen has joined the rest of the smartphones getting their Android Lollipop update this week. In addition to announcing the roll-out, the company which has been acquired by Lenovo, has also vaguely promised that its range of handsets are soon to enjoy the same, without giving out any dates.

The new material design that Google has been talking about means the interface of your Moto X 2014 will have changed once you download and install the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. Then there are notifications for your lock screen which may be a good or bad, depending on how you see it. If you’d rather not have the first bit of your messages or WhatsApp conversations easily accessible to people, you can tweak this through Settings.

Another very noticeable inclusion is Android L’s new Downtime and Interruption settings which users of the Motorola phone can now enjoy. These appear when you fidget with the volume rockers and offer you the option of deciding who disturbs you and when. Apart from the new Moto X, the LG G3 also got its Lollipop treat, a few days before this though. On the other hand, the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 are already moving on to Android 5.0.1.
