With 2015 closing in on us, we’ve been hearing a lot of rumors on upcoming flagship Microsoft Lumia smartphones, though a new report has surfaced stating that the Redmond giant isn’t really interested in offering new high-end Windows Phone handset anytime soon. Instead, the company wants to focus on the entry-level segment where its OS and devices are doing quite well.
If true, Microsoft is certainly playing to its advantage, but what about the McLaren and Lumia 940 handsets which have been extensively leaked? Well, the former is said to be scrapped and the latter could very well be in the works, albeit we aren’t likely to see it surface anytime before the second half of 2015.
Geek On Gadgets has learned this information from its sources who have also shed light on a new Lumia smartphone in the 600 series that’s expected to arrive early next year. Along with this phone, a second low-cost release is also anticipated and it could very well be the device that was certified by the FCC recently.

This handset could arrive as the Lumia 330 or 430 and according to Chinese website Dopsy, the device is said to be a low-end one carrying a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen, dual SIM card slots and a 1.2GHz quad core Snapdragon 400 SOC. The handset will be around 11mm to 12mm thick and arrive in colorful options. There will also be 3G connectivity and a single camera on the rear rated at 5MP.
With no Microsoft Lumia flagship expected until September 2015, the Lumia 930 will continue to be the best performance-driven option from the company. However, we might see high-end Windows Phone devices from other OEM like HTC.
