HTC’s new Google Nexus 9 tablet released in India at Rs 28900

HTC’s first tablet since a few years, the Google Nexus 9, has finally landed in India, but it isn’t being offered through the Play store as yet. Instead, you can purchase the 16GB Wi-Fi only base model for Rs 28900 via Amazon where you’ll also get a free gift card worth Rs 2000 if you book the slate by tomorrow.

Fret not as the Google Nexus 9 is being offered officially and is under warranty. However, we still don’t have any clue as to when it will be available through the Play store. The new release is one beast of a tablet as it comes with top-tier hardware as well as the latest Android version, 5.0 Lollipop.

The slate has an 8.9-inch IPS LCD display with a 4:3 aspect ratio and it offers QXGA visuals. There’s also Corning Gorilla Glass 3, HTC’s BoomSound speakers and slim bezels on the front. Powering up the device is a 2.3GHz dual core 64-bit Tegra K1 processor from Nvidia.

For memory, the company has employed 2GB of RAM and options of 16GB or 32GB flash storage. You also get a choice of LTE (HSPA+ included) connectivity depending on market. The Google tablet has a 6700mAh battery which can deliver up to 9.5 hours of video playback or Wi-Fi web browsing.
