Samsung Galaxy Core Prime coming to India for Rs 9599

An unannounced Samsung Galaxy Core Prime may be coming to India tomorrow for a questionable price of Rs 9599, if a certain retailer is to be believed. According to Mahesh Khatri who regularly leaks stories of mobile launches before they go official, stocks of the smartphone are set to reach sellers by December 2.

The Samsung Galaxy Core Prime is a mid-range device with a 4.5-inch WVGA display and 1GB of RAM. It gets its kicks from a quad core Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.2GHz and offers 8GB of internal storage. Since this is likely to fall short of your hoarding needs, a microSD card slot for adding up to 64GB of extra memory, is also present.

The Galaxy Core Prime hasn’t made an appearance on the company’s eStore for India as of now. The other specs worth mentioning include slots for two SIM cards and a 2000mAh battery. Mahesh Telecom has also talked about it sporting a matte finish and metal frame design. A 5MP camera sits on the back panel, while a 2MP one crowns the front.

The features of this Samsung handset pale in comparison to those of the Xiaomi Redmi Note. It’s surprising why the South Korean company is even bothering with the inexpensive smartphone segment when it clearly cannot deliver the kind of value for money options that are warmly welcomed by the Indian market.
