Microsoft dumps Nokia naming convention with latest Lumia phone

The Microsoft Lumia 535 is the tech giant’s first ever smartphone that will not bear any branding related to Nokia. This extremely affordable Lumia 535 comes with a 5-inch touchscreen display and two 5MP cameras, which is why its makers are calling it a 5x5x5 smartphone package. It’s a pretty good option for Windows Phone fans looking for a Moto E rival.

With its base price set at €110 or around Rs 8400, the Microsoft Lumia 535 will commence its journey in China, Hong Kong and Bangladesh, while other nations will receive it gradually in the future. It will arrive in the form of two different models, one housing a single SIM slot and the other featuring dual SIM slots. Both variants will ship with support for 3G networks, by the way.

The new Microsoft Lumia handset houses a 5-inch display aboard which spews out visuals in qHD resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. It is fueled by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 processor that’s provided assistance by a 1GB RAM module. Furthermore, 8GB of storage memory is offered by the smartphone, apart from 15GB of OneDrive storage and a microSD card slot for supporting added space of 128GB.
