Pioneer HDJ-500 headphones displayed in India, priced at Rs 8590

A brand new pair of Pioneer HDJ-500 headphones has been released into the Indian market with a price tag of Rs 8590 attached to it. Don’t raise your eyebrows at the cost as yet since it’s no everyday audio gear, but one aimed for use at home and in the club. The design and technology incorporated into the device have been based on input received from professional DJs, according to Pioneer.

Manager of Marketing and Product Planning at Pioneer India Electronics, Gaurav Kulshrestha, says that the HDJ-500 is created to egg on a new class of audio connoisseurs – amateur DJs or those who love to listen and experiment with music. The headset will be hitting shelves in five color choices of white, green, red, black and violet. Except for the white option, the rest flaunt a standard black headband. And there’s also a special design detail on one ear cup.

The right ear cup of the HDJ-500 headphones swivels by up to 60 degrees and the headband happens to be flexible. The audio is powered by 40mm dynamic drivers and the ear pad opening has been narrowed down so as to increase the sound quality. The company emphasizes on the fact that the device is built to serve optimally when it comes to the low-range spectrum.

This Pioneer offering delivers a frequency response as high as 28KHz. It accommodates two kinds of cords. There’s a coiled cord measuring 1.2 meters which can be stretched to a maximum of 3 meters for club use. Apart from that, you also get a cord with a length of 1 meter for personal use.
