HTC Desire 820 octa core and Desire 820q quad core phones to be launched in India very soon

The HTC Desire 820 and Desire 820q are on their way to India this week, though admittedly a little off schedule considering that they were supposed to be here on November 4. But one of the company’s PR reps has assured us that the two will indeed be hitting availability during the next few days.

The HTC Desire 820 carries a price tag of Rs 24500, while its 820q sibling can be grabbed for Rs 22500. The former is powered by an impressive 64-bit octa core Snapdragon 615 processor from Qualcomm and 2GB of RAM. The latter makes do with a Snapdragon 410 quad core chip and 1GB of RAM.

If it weren’t for the differences in the RAM and the processor, the Desire 820 would be no better than the other smartphone. Both share the same features and can’t be told apart if you merely look at their exteriors. They run on Android KitKat layered with HTC’s proprietary Sense 6 UI.

Each of the new HTC handsets arrives with a 2600mAh battery, two SIM card slots and 16GB internal memory which can be supplemented by a microSD card of 128GB. There’s a 13MP camera on the rear and an 8MP one above the screen. In other words, the front-facing lens should be good to go when you want to click those selfies.
