Videocon Infinium Graphite ‘flagship’ smartphone introduced in India for Rs 10499

A new Videocon Infinium Graphite has been launched in India with a price tag of Rs 10499 and a ridiculous claim of hiding hardware which today’s flagships would be proud to boast about. Right, so from where has Videocon been pulling comparison charts?

1GB of RAM and an 8MP main camera are hardly rare sights in a mid-range Android handset. The Videocon Infinium Graphite is powered by Android KitKat 4.4 and has a 5MP lens on the front in keeping with the current trend of phones centered on our vapid obsession with clicking ‘selfies.’

The Infinium Graphite gets its kicks from a quad core chip which has MediaTek written all over it. There’s a 4.7-inch 720p display splayed across its front panel and a 16GB of onboard storage space with no option of expanding the memory. The offers the usual connectivity features like 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS/AGPS and Wi-Fi.

This Videocon handset comes loaded with apps out of the box and these cover Hungama Music Application, V-Safe SOS, Try & Buy Gameloft Gamesa and V-Secure amongst others. The device also includes certain extra special effects such as Reversal Silence which we also know as ‘Flip to mute.’

Another useful tweak is Auto Switch Speaker for automatically detecting when your ear is near enough to the phone so that the speaker can be turned off when not required. The same sensor can also let you answer calls hand-free through Auto Answer thanks by detecting its proximity to your ear.
