Zen Firefox U105 dual SIM handset unleashed in India at Rs 1999

The Zen U105 Fire smartphone running on the Firefox OS has been officially launched in India earlier than expected. The handset was previously said to arrive by the end of October and as you’d expect from devices running Mozilla’s mobile OS, the device is a super affordable one.

It currently costs Rs 1999 which is at par with the Intex Cloud FX and the Alcatel Fire C 2G that retails for around the same amount. The Zen U105 Fire is the OEM’s first device to come with the Firefox OS which aims at delivering smartphone-quality apps and internet access at extremely low price points.

Zen Mobile hasn’t done anything unique with the smartphone. In fact, it’s merely based on the reference design from Mozilla which is the case with every other Firefox phone currently available in India. So there’s basically nothing to write home about.

A 2MP snapper can be found on the rear, while the innards comprise of 256MB storage, 128MB RAM, a 1GHz single core processor and a 1200mAh battery.
