Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro India launch event set for month’s end

The metal-bodied Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro is headed to India and its arrival has been confirmed by the Chinese OEM as invites for an event on September 30 have been issued to the press. The handset was recently spotted on the company’s website which initially sparked buzz about its imminent arrival to the country.

The invites for the September 30 event show a nearly blacked-out image of the phone’s metalic rear panel with the lines ‘Make way for the pro’ and ‘The pro awaits you’ written on the top and bottom. What’s interesting is that the Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro was launched just over a month back and is yet to go on sale across the globe, even in China.

This clearly means that India will be amongst the first to experience the new flagship phone. The Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro is 6 inches tall and it carries a 2K IPS LCD panel. To deliver such high resolution visuals, a 2.5GHz quad core Snapdragon 801 processor is employed with Adreno 330 graphics.

The excitement doesn’t stop just there as the phone also tags along 3GB of RAM and a 4000mAh battery, all fitted within a 7.7mm thick metal design. There’s a 16MP rear camera as well, with OIS and 4K recording and a 5MP front snapper for selfies.

Here’s a quick look at the Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro handset specifications:

– Android 4.4 KitKat
– 2.5GHz quad core Snapdragon 801 chip
– 3GB RAM
– 32GB non-expandable storage
– 6-inch 2560 x 1440p QHD touchscreen
– 16MP OIS rear camera, 5MP front shooter
– 4000mAh battery

The Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro clearly isn’t a budget-minded phone, but we expect it to be competitively priced to take on the LG G3 and Oppo Find 7 which also offer 2K displays. The Vibe X2 smartphone was also recently spotted on the company’s India website, so we’re expecting to see it at the event as well.
