The drop in the iPhone 5S pricing should come as no surprise since Apple has already announced October 17 as the launch date for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in India. Not only that, even those keen to get their paws on the iPhone 5C have something to smile about since its cost has also been brought down officially.
And more expensive the device, the bigger the price drop it enjoys. The 32GB iPhone 5S which originally sold for Rs 62500, is pegged at Rs 49500 currently. The 16GB capacity that was selling for Rs 53500 can now be nabbed for Rs 44500. This means you’ll be paying Rs 13000 and Rs 9000 less for these handsets, respectively.
As for the 8GB iPhone 5C, its rate has been slashed by Rs 6000 to stand at a sort of reasonable Rs 31500 presently. BGR India who broke the story, notes that it’s not certain whether Apple will roll out buyback plans for any of these older smartphones. But if the company were to do so, you can expect even bigger savings.
In case the already discounted iPhone 5S handset is paired with such as scheme, you may only have to cough up Rs 36500 for the 16GB capacity and Rs 41500 for the 32GB one. The 8GB iPhone 5C could end up costing you Rs 23500 only. You can already get the iPhone 5C for less than Rs 24000 from Snapdeal and Flipkart.
The iPhone 5S handset is up for purchase for Rs 35799 or a little higher, depending on where you pick it up from. The 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus went up for pre-order in the US, the UK, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Hong Kong, Puerto Rico and Singapore yesterday, and will be made available on September 19.

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus with 16GB memory are tagged at $649 and $749, respectively. They are also out in 64GB and 128GB capacities. We’re yet to hear about their prices for India even though the release date is out.
