iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus to enter India on October 17, price speculations begin

The new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models were unveiled recently by the Cupertino-based company, and one would’ve expected them to make a late entry into India, but that’s not meant to be. Apple has made it clear that both the devices will be launched here as early as on October 17.

But the huge question of what their prices will be has been kept unanswered. We know that Apple handsets cannot in any way be called affordable, but an idea of what they could cost should very well help potential buyers keep aside the right amount for when they are made available.

iPhone 6 And iPhone 6 Plus

You can expect the starting iPhone 6 price to be well above Rs 50000. With its 4.7-inch display, the iPhone 6 in its 16GB version can cost well around Rs 65000, whereas the iPhone 6 Plus with the same amount of storage could ask for up to Rs 75000. So, if you’re really thinking of going for the 128GB models, we’d advise you to keep aside Rs 90000 to Rs 100000.

The new iPhone 6 devices kick in 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays with resolutions of 750 x 1334 pixels and 1080 x 1920 pixels, respectively. They run on the fresh 64-bit A8 chipsets which provide 25 percent more processing prowess and 50 percent more GPU strength.

These are the first iPhones to feature NFC to allow users to make payments through their handsets. They still carry 8MP iSight cameras but they have better video shooting capabilities this time around. And of course, the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus handsets run on the iOS 8 platform which will be made available to previous-gen devices on September 17.
