We all love a good iPhone 6 story best when it comes in the form of a leak Apple didn’t manage to plug and here’s one straight from China Telecom. Counted amongst the three biggest telecom names in China, the carrier had put up a pre-order page for the upcoming Apple smartphone, only to pixelate part of the image later and then yank down the whole thing after that.
But a cached version of the web page in question clearly displays pictures with the iPhone 6 branding and even reveals some of its key specifications. The images are of high quality and depict the device in three color options of gray, white as well as gold. You’ll remember that Apple decided to do away with black when it rolled out its current flagship, and it appears keen to continue doing so.
The page was meant to receive pre-orders for the new iPhone and even promised fans who register online and purchase the handset, a prepaid card worth 200 yuan or $32.60. After reserving a unit for themselves, potential buyers were taken to the next step asking them to choose between the long-rumored 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models. Even rival carrier China Mobile, has started accepting advance bookings for the device.

ZNET cites China Unicom as saying that the smaller iPhone 6 Air and bigger iPhone 6 Pro smartphone will be priced at 5288 yuan ($861 or Rs 52000 ) and 6288 yuan ($1024 or Rs 62700), correspondingly, for 16GB of internal storage. With VAT and all the other taxes included, an educated guess makes us feel the former will cost about Rs 58000 and the latter will ask for around Rs 68000 when they reach India.
As for details on the specs, the iPhone 6 will purportedly carry a 416ppi sharp screen with regards to the 4.7-inch panel. Its Touch ID fingerprint reader may have taken a trip to the drawing board and you can apparently look for a 3MP front camera, 2100mAh battery and quad core A8 processor too. Lastly, the rear could have a smooth, curvy finish just like the one you see on the iPad Air or iPad mini.
Of course, we wouldn’t put too much faith in what China Telecom has to say about the iPhone 6 since it ‘accidentally’ let out images of the 5C smartphone in 2013. These ‘leaked’ photos turned out to be fake when Apple actually released its two iOS devices later on.
