F-Secure’s Freedome app allows you browse the web anonymously

Freedome is a new app for Android and iOS which understands how helpless most people feel when they worry about being watched all the time while using mobile phones. To put it simply, the application is a blend of virtual private network, anti-tracking, anti-virus and anti-phishing technology rolled into one package.

If you take a look at the Freedome UI, it’s beautifully minimalistic and features just an On/Off toggle as the interface you land on upon clicking open the app. It allows you to connect to the internet through the company’s F-Secure Cloud or choose to hide your IP address by picking another country such as the US, the UK, Finland, Germany and Sweden as your virtual location.

The developer behind this anti-snooping application F-Secure says that advertisers won’t be able to track users’ locations and there’s less reason to fear public Wi-Fi hotspots owing to the data encryption technology being employed here. Depending on the server hosting the websites you’re surfing, you can also expect a decent connection.

The Freedome app offers you stats on the number of viruses, harmful sites and trackers among other things that it has managed to deal with appropriately.

Freedome app costs €4.49, £2.99 or $4.99 per month depending on the country from where you’re downloading it. Its yearly subscription is priced at €26.99, £20.99 or $29.99. The Android and iOS app is currently available only in Europe, Latin America, North America, Russia, Thailand and Turkey.
