The company which unveiled the last mentioned phone for Rs 14999 earlier, is also planning two other mystery launches for this week, according to teasers on its website and Facebook page.

The Xiaomi Redmi 1S and Redmi Note are expected to be the upcoming smartphones in the teaser which shows the Flipkart-exclusive Mi3 flanked by two devices with question marks painted on them. In the background, you can make out the words ‘Bundle of surprises with Mi’ and ‘More announcements coming on July 15.’

Xiaomi which is popularly known as the Apple of China, sticks to keeping limited stock of its devices being offered for sale. Its Singapore-specific Facebook page notes that 5000 units each of the Xiaomi Redmi Note (pictured below) and Redmi 1S will be up for grabs on July 15. This has fueled speculations about these two phones landing in India too on the said date.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note has a 5.5-inch IPS screen of a disappointing 720p resolution and it’s powered by an octa core 1.7GHz processor by MediaTek to keep the price low and bargain hunters interested. The phone runs on Jelly Bean 4.3 dressed with a layer of Xiaomi’s proprietary MIUI software. Its key specification include 1.7GB RAM, 8GB internal memory, 32GB expandability, 5MP and 3MP cameras as well as a 3100mAh battery.

Xiaomi Redmi Note

The Xiaomi Redmi 1S on the other hand, is no phablet and features just a 4.7-inch 720p IPS touchscreen. Luckily, you get a Snapdragon 400 quad core SoC clocked at 1.6GHz here and the same Android 4.3 with MIUI on top. The main things you need to know about the handset span over 1GB RAM, 64GB microSD card support, 16GB ROM, an 8MP main camera, a 1.6MP webcam and a 2000mAh power house.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note and Redmi 1S are pegged at 199 and 169 Singaporean dollars, meaning they should cost around Rs 10000 and Rs 8000 in India. The company has been keen on following an aggressive pricing strategy in order to make it big on these shores and fans may be glad if it sticks to this policy.
