Tata Docomo has announced that new unlimited data plans have been added to the Photon lineup for postpaid customers, providing them with multiple options for limitless data usage. The new subscriptions aren’t available on all devices and they start at Rs 650 a month and go up to Rs 1,250.
Devices eligible for the new Tata Docomo unlimited data plans include the Photon Plus, Photon Max Wi-Fi and Photon Max. Just so you know, there’s a bandwidth cap on each plan. The lowest monthly subscription costs Rs 650 and it offers 3GB of high speed data. For 7GB of non-throttled usage, you’ll have to shell out Rs 750, while Rs 1,000 will land you 20GB of data. For even higher data needs, there’s the Rs 1,250 plan that offers a whopping 30GB of usage.
Customers will be able to consume the allotted data at speeds of 9.8Mbps in locations where available. Once the bandwidth has been crossed, the downlink speed will be throttled down to down to 153.6Kbps which is good enough for light browsing. In other news, Tata Docomo announced earlier this month that it has started offering 9.8Mbps of downlink speeds (from 6.2Mbps) on the Photon Max Wi-Fi by implementing the Rev. B Phase II technology. Only three circles have been treated to the upgraded net speed, namely Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai. Nevertheless, the operator plans to expand the availability to more locations in the near future.
