Amazon Kindle Cloud Reader service unveiled for India

eBook readers in India who depend upon their Amazon Kindle libraries for satisfying their reading habits can take advantage of Amazon’s Cloud Reader so as to view all their content on web browsers. This means access to your eBooks is no longer limited to your eReading devices only, as you will even be able to read them through your PCs.

Kindle Cloud Reader opens up access to 2 million books and book samples, out of which about 500,000 titles are exclusive to the service. Although it’s an online tool, you can download entire eBooks for offline reading once you’ve purchased them from Amazon.

Syncing is yet another aspect which Amazon’s Kindle Cloud Reader prides itself on. Suppose if you’ve left off reading a particular book on your eReader and wish to continue it on your computer, it will open up on the same page as where you left off as soon as you sign in.

Obviously, there are also options for customizing page layouts to suit your tastes. You can change the font size, text color, background color and more such aspects though its settings. And then there is also the provision for viewing, adding and editing notes, highlights and bookmarks. A cool feature is the ability to search for a particular topic, character or section within an eBook for going back to your favorite parts.

Amazon has announced that the Kindle Cloud Reader is available now through Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer (10 and above) as well as Safari on iPad and desktop.
