Nokia XL phone just a bigger Nokia X: Comparison

Our first impression of the Nokia XL phone was that it was just a bigger Nokia X, and we’re assuming that you’ve been thinking the same ever since the Finnish company introduced its trio of cheap Android smartphones. The Nokia X costs Rs 7490 and we’re assuming that the XL will be priced below Rs 10000 since it differs from the former on very few points.

The Nokia XL as well as X+ have been marked with a Coming Soon sign on the company’s Indian website. So we’re assuming we will be seeing these handsets in stores within this month itself. After all, the lineup was introduced in February and every good marketer knows that it’s important to put product announcement and availability as close together as possible.

Nokia XL

Nokia XL versus Nokia X:

Running a forked version of Android, the Nokia XL has a 5-inch capacitive multi-touch screen, a 5MP main camera, a 2MP webcam and 768MB of RAM. Its rival features a 4-inch capacitive two-point touch display, a 2MP snapper, no front lens and slightly lower 512MB of RAM. The former is powered by a 2000mAh battery which can see you through almost 13 hours of 3G talk time, while the latter only embeds a 1500mAh one delivering roughly 10.5 hours of the same.

Key specifications at a glance:

– 5-inch 800 x 480p IPS LCD touchscreen
– Nokia X software platform 1.0
– Dual core 1GHz Snapdragon S4 processor
– Dual SIM card slots
– 5MP camera and 2MP front lens
– 768MB of RAM, 4GB internal memory
– Up to 32GB microSD card support
– 2000mAh battery
– 10.9 x 141.4 x 77.7 millimeters
– 190 grams

Like we’ve mentioned above, we don’t think the Nokia XL will carry a price tag crossing Rs 10000 since it’s a very basic smartphone which doesn’t even offer the pure Android experience. Same goes for the Nokia X+.
