In an interview with the same paper on April 21, Chialin Chang, Chief Financial Officer at HTC had expressed an interest in the facility. He said that the company will be happy to look further into the matter, if it can help serve customers better.

Nokia has made the decision of selling its Chennai-based facility due to the loss the company is facing and because the plant has run into multiple tax disputes with the Indian government. What remains to be seen is if it sells the plant to Microsoft or a third-party manufacturer.
