Indian Railway has gone mobile and in collaboration with Microsoft, it has launched the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) app to keep people informed about trains, their schedules and a lot of other related things. As of now, the application has only been released for the Windows Phone 8 OS, but it will soon be made available on popular mobile platforms like Android and iOS.
Apart from a dedicated mobile application, Centre for Railway Information Systems has also introduced an NTES website that caters to travelers, just like its mobile version. The developers say that the utility is apt for vacationers, for people taking business trips and even for daily commuters. It brings the complete train schedules to your mobile phones and makes it available in only a few clicks.
You can visit the app to find out the train’s arrival and departure times, stoppages, delays, cancellations and a lot more. Its ‘Train between stations’ feature lists out all the trains available between any two stations you enter as your search queries. But one of its key highlights is the ‘spot your train’ feature that tells you exactly where the train is, in real time.
