Lava Iris 504Q+ quad core Android phone : Features and specs review

The 5-inch Lava Iris 504Q+ smartphone was launched in India only yesterday and although it is pegged at under Rs 14,000, it still is more expensive than a lot of its competitors out there. Here we are taking a look at the features and specifications of the device to find out if it is really worth the bucks or not.

As you may already know, the Lava Iris 504Q+ is a successor to the Iris 504Q that was launched last year. The former improves on the latter’s specs, but the two devices are completely different in terms of appearance. Here’s a report on the phone in question’s attributes. Do take a look and decide whether you wish to pick it up or not.

Lava Iris 504Q Plus

Touchscreen:

Like its predecessor, the 504Q+ is fitted with a 5-inch touchscreen which makes use of IPS as well as OGS technologies and renders images in HD 1280 x 720p resolution. And thanks to a Dragontrail Glass, you can bid goodbye to unwanted scrapes and scratches.

Camera:

Its 10MP primary camera employs a Sony Exmor RS sensor with 1.4µm pixel size and brings a range of other features such as scene detection and tuning, panorama (vertical and horizontal), HDR, geo-tagging, face detection, low light enhancement and more. It goes without saying that you can record videos using the phone as well. Another 2MP snapper graces the front panel for video calling purposes.

OS and Processor:

While the Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 OS is responsible for taking care of the phone’s interface, a quad core processor which ticks at 1.3GHz takes care of its multitasking properties. The company has refrained from mentioning anything regarding a software upgrade.

The quad core chipset has 1GB of RAM for assistance and the Lava Iris 504Q+ phone’s total internal memory amounts to 8GB out of which 5.33GB is available for users. And you do get the option of increasing it further by up to 32GB using a microSD card.

Battery:

And when it comes to powering it up, Lava chooses a 2000mAh lithium-polymer battery which claims to be capable of coughing up the juice for standby time of around 200 hours.

Other features:

Some of its key highlights are voice and gesture controls that allow you to capture images, play video and do a lot of other things without having to actually touch the screen. Also, you can flip to mute and shake to answer a call.
