China Telecom goofs up, prematurely publishes iPhone 5S, 5C pre-order page

We’ve all been patiently waiting for the next iPhone and more specifically its cheaper variant, the 5C. And while we’re just days away from seeing both smartphones go official, someone over at China Telecom seems to have created a bit of a mess by accidentally publishing the pre-order page. Apart from this, an announcement that the device was available for reservation was announced via Weibo.

The invitation to pre-order the iPhone 5S and 5C was sent out by China Telecom Beijing Service, notes Unwired View, which is an official account for the carrier. What’s interesting is that the link provided with the status took viewers to a weird domain which wasn’t hosted on the provider’s main website. Adding to this, the page was filled with images of the 5C smartphone accompanied by inappropriate labeling. Also, the pictures hosted there don’t look to be anything like the cheaper version we’ve seen in rumors, but rather the 5S model. Also, everything is a mixture of English and Chinese and by the looks of it, the page may have gone up unfinished.

What we know so far is that the iPhone 5S will be available in the usual shades as well as in champagne gold and graphite. The device will have an Apple A7 processor, a sapphire home button, a fingerprint sensor and dual LED flash, all fitted within a design that’s highly similar to that of the current flagship. The 5C on the other hand, will be made of plastic with color options of yellow, white, green, blue and red.

Just for reminder’s sake, the Cupertino giant has confirmed that it will be holding an event on September 10 in the US and on the 11th in China.
