It’s clear that Xiaomi is getting ready to launch the Redmi Note 5 on February 14, but the smartphone may not be the only thing the company is unveiling. A new video on its Twitter page indicates that the brand is also looking to show off one of its Mi TVs.
The video features a bunch of people looking at something and wondering what it is. It’s probably a Mi TV, but the exact model is unclear right now. Times Now reports that Xiaomi is planning to launch 2 versions of the Redmi Note 5, the aforementioned Mi TV, and the Mi Box during its event.
As per sources, the Redmi Note 5 is in fact a rebranded version of the Redmi 5 Plus. This has been suspected for a while now. However, it can’t be said for certain whether the Redmi 5 corresponds to the basic Redmi Note 5 and the Redmi 5 Plus to the premium Redmi Note 5. This does appear to be the case, but we’ll know for sure when February 14 rolls around.
Both Redmi Note 5 iterations are expected to gain hold of a trendy 18:9 aspect ratio to emphasize the screen and not the bezels. The more expensive of the pair will probably gain a dual camera setup to distinguish itself. It might additionally start at a Rs 15000 price tag.
The Mi TV making its way here could measure 55-inch and begin at Rs 30000. As for the Mi Box, the device streams 4K UHD content and runs on Google’s Android TV 6.0 software. Xiaomi will probably sell its latest offerings via Flipkart, its own site, and offline outlets like Vijay Sales.
