Sony A68 with 4D Focus unveiled in India at Rs 55990

The Sony A68 A-mount camera has been launched in India and is set to hit shelves across the nation soon. It’ll be available via the brand’s offline outlets and major electronic stores.

The price of the Sony A68 starts at Rs 55990 for the body, Rs 59990 for an additional 18-55mm kit lens bundle, and Rs 85990 for an extra 18-135mm kit lens package. The main talking point of the DSLR is its superior autofocus abilities thanks to a 4D Focus system which the brand says allows for clear photos even during low-light or high-speed situations.

The A68 comes with 79 autofocus points and 15 cross points, the highest number for any interchangeable-lens digital camera with a dedicated phase-detection AF sensor. The feature combined with the DSLR’s f/2.8 AF sensor helps it cover a wide area when focusing on image.

Sony has also equipped it with a unique Translucent Mirror to ensure accurate autofocus tracking even when a user is shooting a 1080p video or while capturing burst shots in continuous mode at 8fps. The technology replaces the regular moving mirror found in cameras with a fixed translucent one.

Taking a closer look at its specs, the A68 houses a 24.2MP APS-C Exmor CMOS sensor and features an ISO range of 100 – 25600. Its operations are handled by a Bionz X image processor which takes care of aspects like noise reduction and sharpness control.

The Sony A68 also carries a 2.7-inch tiltable LCD screen which can go 135-degree up or 55-degree down. Like we said above, the camera will be sold across India soon starting at Rs 55990.
