Reliance is looking to boost sales of its Lyf phones by introducing a Jio offer which gives away 20% extra data for free to new buyers. While the lineup initially did pretty well when it was the only way to get a Jio SIM, vending has dropped ever since the network extended its reach to other smartphones.
Reliance Jio’s new scheme is seeking to change that with the new tie-up. Only 10 models are eligible for the deal namely the Earth 1, Earth 2, F1, F1S, Wind 4S, Water 1, Water 7S, Water 8, Water 10, and Water 11. Moreover, the purchaser will have to be a Jio Prime member to take advantage of the offer.
To get started, a user will have to get their hands on any one of the devices mentioned above and download the MyJio app. They’ll then have to head to the My Voucher section, tap on View Voucher, click Recharge my number, and then Confirm Recharge. They should get a successful recharge notification post this.
It should be noted that the 20% additional Jio data only kicks in if a recharge of Rs 309 or Rs 509 is done. The former will grant a person 6GB of free 4G data, while the latter gives away 12GB of extra data per recharge. The offer can be availed 6 times till 31 March 2018.

Any free data which remains at the end of a cycle will expire automatically and can’t be carried on. You can buy Reliance’s Lyf handsets here.
