Opticon H16 and H19 smartphones

The Opticon Mobility Group announced on 4th August that their H16 Windows Mobile 5 Professional smartphone has been approved by AT&T. The company, which is also waiting for the certification of their H19 smartphone, is aiming for a September release.

The H16 is a horizontal sliding phone and has a QWERTY keyboard which facilitates fast messaging and emailing. It also comes with a 2.8 inch colour touch-screen LCD.

The H19 was adjudged as the Best New Network Compatible Device by AT&T at the CTIS Wireless Tradeshow. It runs on the Windows Mobile 6.0 and has integrated GPS and navigational facilities.

Free update for Mobile Game - Enigmo from Pangea Software

Pangea Enigmo Pangea Software announced the availability of Enigmo 1.1.1, an update for the award-winning puzzle game, for Apple iPhone 3G and iPod touch on 7th August.

Enigmo 1.1.1 can be downloaded for free by players from the Apple App Store after it was released on Thursday. Players can download more levels created with the PC or Mac version of Enigmo or choose from the numerous existing game files on Pangea’s own server.

Enigmo is a physics-based 3D puzzle game available on the iPhone and iPod Touch. The player has to maneuver various objects in order to control the flow of liquids like oil, water and lava. Google Translate for iPhone is launched

iPhone, Google Translate Google has introduced its iPhone/ iPod Touch specific version of Google Translate created by two Google engineers, Allen Hutchinson and David Singleton. Users can now have access to words and phrases from 2 dozen languages while on the move.

Gaining access to Google Translate is quite simple. Users can either go directly to ‘translate.google.com’ in their browser or choose the ‘more’ tab on the Google website. Google Translate supports translations up to 24 different languages including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, German and Spanish among others. A few handy phrases for quick reference can also be stored on this application.

Samsung Mobiles announced the arrival of its latest phone, R450 featuring a QWERTY keyboard in the US on Friday. This sleek phone is targeted at young users who use messaging applications very often.

The R450 has two keyboards. When closed, the phone looks like a normal candybar handset with a standard number keypad. But it also slides open horizontally to reveal a QWERTY keyboard. The 2.1 inch screen automatically changes to landscape mode when the phone is slid open.
