Nokia N900 The highly anticipated Nokia N900 has finally begun shipping. The Nokia N900 is feature-packed with the advanced internet tablet technology.

With this handset, social network addicts can stay in touch with their friends anytime, anywhere. The device comes with a slide out full-QWERTY keyboard that allows quick typing of messages and emails. The handset’s fast-speed browser is built by Mozilla assuring rich mobile internet browsing experience with similar functionalities like those on desktops.

“The Nokia N900 has generated a lot of interest since its public launch in August, which has been reflected in the device preorders,” says José-Luis Martinez, Vice President, Nseries, Nokia. “What’s exciting is the Maemo software, which takes its cues from the desktop computer and offers a full browsing experience like no other handset. We believe the Nokia N900 will be a very compelling device for people who are passionate about technology.”

The N900 is a dynamic handset with extensive 1GB of RAM and is powered by and ARM Coretex-A8 processor. It allows personalization of the panoramic desktops with widgets, contacts and shortcuts. Users can experience organized SMS and instant messages as chat flow can effortlessly switch between the multiple conversation windows. The Nokia N900 comes with built-in 32 GB storage to approximately store 7,000 songs or 40 hours of DVD-quality video. With an external microSD card, the storage can be expanded up to 48GB.

Users can also choose from a wide variety of games, utilities, themes, panoramic wallpapers and service plug-ins for photo-sharing and messaging through Ovi Store and Maemo Select. These services will be available later this year. Nokia announced official Qt port to Maemo 5 in October. This enables developers to use Qt software to aim the Nokia N900 and effortlessly port applications to all Qt supported platforms including its new release called the Maemo 6 along with Symbian.

The Nokia N900 comes with an estimated retail price of EUR 500, excluding sales taxes and subsidies. Initially, the Nokia N900 will be available in Europe, Middle-East, Russia and North America. Users can purchase the device from the official website of Nokia.
