Nokia 2 unveiled in India with 4100mAh battery, Snapdragon 212 SoC

The Nokia 2 has made its international debut in India, eying the entry-level first-time smartphone user market. Strangely enough, HMD Global hasn’t revealed how much the device will cost in India yet.

Instead, it’s announced that the Nokia 2 will be priced at EUR 99 (approx Rs 7460). The handset features a very basic set of specs, highlighted by the fact that it contains a 4100mAh battery. The company touts that the powerhouse can last for 2 days at a time.

Nokia focuses on conserving fuel in other aspects of the handset as well, from the low-power Snapdragon 212 processor to the energy-efficient 5-inch LTPS LCD HD display. The screen additionally comes with a high 1:1300 contrast ratio and Gorilla Glass 3 for protection from minor falls.

As before, one of the top attractions of the Nokia 2 is its stock Android interface. Nougat currently runs at its heart, but an update to Oreo has been promised at a future date. Not many budget phones can boast of such a guarantee, so there’s an inherent advantage in that for anyone who likes having the latest software.
