The Micromax Canvas HD A116i very predictably plays successor to the Canvas HD and has already been listed on an eretailer with varying price tags ranging from Rs 12,750 to Rs 14,299. It can be picked up via eBay. The phone has shown up on the web merely a day after the Canvas Juice A77 went up for sale in India.
You will be surprised to know that the company has released the Micromax Canvas HD A116i with absolutely no upgrades. The new Micromax smartphone continues to run the Android Jelly Bean 4.2.1 OS, but the shopping portal says that it will be upgradeable to the Jelly Bean 4.2.1 platform. And the retailer has refrained from revealing anything about the built-in battery so it could mean that the new phone has a better power pack than its predecessor.
All the other specifications are exactly the same. So you can expect a 5-inch IPS LCD touchscreen of 1280 x 720p resolution and a pixel density of 294ppi. A 2MP camera with the ability to record VGA videos has been fitted in the front, while an 8MP snapper takes up a spot on the rear surface alongside a flash.
Moreover, the A116i is powered by a quad core MediaTek MT6589 Cortex A7 processor ticking at 1.2GHz, accompanied by 1GB of RAM. 4GB of onboard storage has been tossed into the mix and a microSD card slot has been carved on the handset for expanding the memory further by up to 32GB. All the other common attributes are also likely to be present in the gadget.
