Though Micromax is yet to announce a Funbook P360, online retailers have already jumped the gun and let out a price for it. The Android device is currently up for sale at upwards from Rs. 7,049 and details on the specifications are also out.
The tablet has jostled its way into a scene which is already crowded with budget devices from various brands such as Lava, Wishtel and Videocon. But with at least one new offering within this league coming at us every other week, we weren’t expecting the rain of inexpensive slates to let up. And this newest chunk of Android is no more promising than its competitors in terms of specs, something that could have been guessed by a mere glance at the tag attached to it.
The three major retailers who are vending the 2G calling device do not seem to agree on the OS it runs. While Flipkart and Saholic say that it is powered by Ice Cream Sandwich, Snapdeal is convinced it works on Jelly Bean. This as well as the details of the embedded 1GHz chip can be confirmed by us only once an official product page is hosted for it. Moving on to the other specifications, the tablet holds a 7-inch, 800 x 480p touch display to its face.
There’s 1GB of RAM and 1.65GB of onboard memory. We’re presuming that the actual ROM can be mentioned at 4GB. But users who need more space to satisfy their hoarding needs don’t need to be worried about this since the inbuilt microSD card slot can accommodate up to 32GB of extra memory. Lastly, a very basic 2MP camera is pasted onto the rear, while a 0.3MP front lens sits on the front, above the display.
Since the Micromax Funbook P360 has already arrived unofficially with all the essential information, namely the tag attached to it and the specs, the company with undoubtedly hurry up and acknowledge its presence. So far, only the P600, P362, P275, P350, P500 and P300 have been listed on the manufacturer’s website.
