Price details for the A119 Signature HD have faced official disclosure in India with the Celkon device being fixed with a label of Rs. 13,499. This smartphone joins the queue of budget phablets that have been making their way into the subcontinent’s market.
The device runs on the Jelly Bean platform and it is driven by a 1GHz dual core processor which receives assistance from 1GB of RAM. Power is derived from a 2100mAh Li-ion battery which grants users approximately 6 hours of talktime or around 140 hours of standby time. The maker has provided dual SIM slots, addressing the needs of those who prefer not carrying around two phones for different numbers.
Though the specification for the internal memory is shown as 4GB, the company informs those interested that the space actually available would amount to just 1.45GB. Probably foreseeing that this might dissuade potential customers, the manufacturer has tried to placate them by allowing expansion up to 32GB through a microSD slot.
The frame is built around dimensions of 148mm x 74.5mm x 9.3mm and the front panel encloses a touchscreen that measures 5 inches wide. Users can click away with the 12MP rear snapper which features autofocus that should ideally satiate their photography requirements. And if that wasn’t enough, the manufacturer has gone ahead and perched a 3MP front-facing lens. The smartphone tips the scales at 177 grams.
The device could be seen as potential competition for the Micromax Canvas HD A116 and the WickedLeak Wammy Titan 2, since both phablets come under the same retail range and even boast of similar specs sheets. Users of the former handset however would have to be satisfied with just an 8MP main camera as the sole medium for taking pictures and videos.
The Celkon A119 Signature HD is said to available right now, but doesn’t seem to be put up on any online vendor’s as yet.
