Skyworks Solutions make known that its EDGE front-end solutions will now power Samsung’s latest handsets. This solution has been incorporated in an array of Samsung’s touchscreen phones including the S5230 and the S3310.
The Samsung S5230, a touch screen mobile phone is capable of worldwide roaming. This phone is an addition to several new full touch-screen mobiles presented in European markets. It measures about 11.9 mm and has a 3” auto-rotating touch screen. The screen has Samsung’s patented TouchWiz user interface that makes data and text entry with finger-swipe navigation simple.

The phone also incorporates a QWERTY keyboard in addition to an in-built 3.0 megapixel camera. The camera can record quarter video graphics array for QVGA resolution video at 15 frames per second. Offering better sound quality, the phone also supports domain names search engine.
Moreover, the Samsung S3310 which is an ultra thin quad band GSM/EDGE candy bar mobile phone will also be powered by Skyworks. The phone offers a 2.1” thin film transistor for QVGA resolution with 16 million colors. Providing up to 30 frames per second of video recording capabilities, the handset consists of a 2 MP camera. It also features an MP3 player and a FM tuner with radio data system. The phone offers connectivity through 2.1 Bluetooth and 2.0 USB. It has a 240 MB internal memory and up to 8 GB expandable microSD memory card slot.
This technology will be available on Samsung touchscreen phones recently launched in the European markets.
