The Gigabyte GSmart G1355 phone which runs on the Android Gingerbread platform may certainly be seen as one reasonably rare piece of hardware. That’s because it’s not easy to start rattling off smartphone names which can claim both, dual SIM capability and a 4.3-inch screen to their credit.
The side profile of the device spans at 11.5mm thick, which is not exactly skinny for a normal bar-type form factor. And unlike the sort of price tag we’re expecting to be attached to it, the body could strain the pockets by a bit with its 170g weight.
In terms of the key technical specifications, potential users could be looking at a 5MP camera with LED flash and auto-focus, embedded on the back panel. The handset could also deliver Wi-Fi b/g/n connectivity and memory expansion via a microSD card slot.
The unexpectedly large display on the device is of the WVGA type. It depends on a Qualcomm MSM7227T chipset for its performance prowess. For those who are finicky with details, Gigabyte is talking about 512MB of RAM, an Adreno 200 GPU as well as the CPU clocking it in at around 800MHz.
The Gigabyte GSmart G1355 release date and price details aren’t out yet. All that GSMArena can confirm is that the handset is expected to hit shelves towards the end of this month, probably at the MWC 2012. That’s where all cool phones go to be released.
