T-Mobile releasing Samsung T349 by next month?

Samsung Logo The latest news from the rumor mill reveals that T-Mobile is planning to launch yet another entry level phone called the Samsung T349. According to Boy Genius Report, the carrier has described this device internally as a “20-key messaging phone.”

The phone includes a keypad that resembles much like the SureType keypads found on the BlackBerry Pearl and the BlackBerry Flip.

Sporting a candybar form, this phone is slated to feature an AMOLED display and a 1.3 megapixel camera with video recording capabilities. Reportedly, the phone includes various messaging functions such as SMS, MMS, Email and instant messaging.

Apparently, the Samsung T949 will also support Bluetooth and GPRS connectivity. This simple looking device is said to integrate other useful features like photo caller ID, alarm clock, and calculator. Supposedly, it will also include T-Mobile’s Mobile backup service which will enable a user to quickly recover all the data in case of a lost or stolen cellphones.

The phone is expected to be available for both pre-paid and post-paid customers via T-Mobile from May 20, 2009. The pricing details of the phone are not yet known.
