The latest smartphone to unveil across India is the Micromax A85 Superfone which was launched yesterday in the country. Powered by a 1GHz Dual-Core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, its USP is said to be the Gesture Control feature.

The Gesture Control functionality makes this new handset capable of recognizing and reciprocating to hand gestures for executing commands such as browsing through contacts, answering or ending a call, accessing the photo gallery, music player, calendar and email. The A85 Superfone operates on Android 2.2 Froyo which can be updated to Gingerbread and comes integrated with a 3.8-inch 480 x 800p TFT capacitive touchscreen display.

Users are able to work at a fast pace simultaneously on multiple applications such as checking mails, surfing the web, sharing pictures, updating social networking websites and writing on blogs. Lending support to Wi-Fi, the mobile device is embedded with a 0.3MP secondary and a 5MP primary camera featuring 7.2x zoom auto focus as well as 720p – 1080p HD video recording capabilities.

The Micromax A85 Superfone is expected to be available through authorized retail stores across India for a price of Rs. 19,900.
