Leaked pictures and specifications of the forthcoming HTC smartphone called the HTC Zeta have made their way to the web world. Rumor mills suggest that the highlight of this handset is that it supposedly boasts of a 2.5GHz APQ8064 quad-core CPU.

Springing out of the blue, this HTC device carries a whopping and rarely seen 2.5GHz quad-core CPU inside its slim form. Engadget got its hand on a picture of the Zeta as well as its specs sheet. Going by the looks of it, this handset comes across as a sleek, sharp and sophisticated device that supposedly measures 109.8mm x 60.9mm x 9.8mm.

The upcoming mobile device is said to be incorporated with 1GB RAM and 32GB of internal memory. It is apparently equipped with a 1.3MP front and an 8MP rear facing camera featuring dual LED flash that will allow users to record videos in 1080p.

Believed to weigh 146g, the handset will lend support to Bluetooth 4.0 and run on a 1,830mAh battery. It is most likely to be integrated with Beats Audio and operate on the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS besides being loaded with the new generation HTC Sense user interface. This piece of news follows hot on the heels of the leaked information about the HTC Edge which is touted to be the first Tegra 3 powered quad-core Android smartphone.
