We were at the press event in Mumbai, India today as the Sony Ericsson Xperia pro and the Xperia neo V smartphones were launched, with Bharti Airtel tossing in a data plan offer.

The Xperia neo V is a full touch device operating on the Gingerbread operating system. The first handset to feature a front-facing camera in this range by Sony Ericsson, the smartphone displays 3D pictures and records HD videos. A successor to the previously launched neo, this handset is employs a 1GHz processor, and 3.7” Reality Display with Mobile Bravia Engine.

The next in line, the Sony Ericsson Xperia pro possess a slider form factor as well as a 3.7” display. And as its name suggests, sports a QWERTY keypad. It is also adorned with functions like the Type & Send function and a Smart Keyboard. With features apt for heavy texters and social networking enthusiasts, this device snugly fits in users’ hands with its size of 4.7” x 2.2” x 0.5”.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia neo V and the Xperia pro are expected to hit markets soon along with a data usage offer from Bharti Airtel. The prices read at around Rs. 18,000 and Rs. 23,000, respectively.
