The LG Optimus LTE smartphone is now officially available in Korea. Offering 4G connectivity, the handset runs on a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and embeds a 4.5-inch HD IPS display. The handset’s touchscreen reportedly delivers high quality resolution, brightness and definition by displaying colors in their most natural hues.

Operating on Android Gingerbread, this 135g smartphone is said to be apt for multimedia purposes. It allows for smooth content sharing via HDMI and DLNA. Powered by a 1,830mAh battery, the handset features 1GB RAM along with 4GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card.

“LG Optimus LTE is the first smartphone in Korea to offer vivid and clear HD content on a 4G network. Our goal is to be a leading player in LTE devices by continuously offering best-in-class products based on our LTE patents and knowhow,” commented Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

Measuring 132.9mm x 67.9mm x 10.4mm, the Optimus LTE possesses a 1.3MP front and 8MP rear facing camera with autofocus and LED flash. LG had launched its first LTE smartphone, Revolution, in USA earlier this year.

Details regarding the price and exact availability of the LG Optimus LTE have not yet been revealed.
