Samsung unveiled a new mobile phone called the Samsung Xplorer B2100. The design and specifications of the phone make it a robust and versatile device. It can be a great option for those who are fond of adventures.

This IP57 certified phone meets the Military Standard 810F specifications and can resist dust, shock, extreme temperatures. To top it all, it can withstand water submersion upto one meter for about 30 minutes. Since the phone is encased in anti-shocked urethane material, it can also withstand bangs, bumps, scuffs and scrapes.

“Samsung Xplorer is the perfect companion for consumers who enjoy active outdoor activities,” added JK Shin, Executive Vice President and Head of Mobile Communication Division at Samsung Electronics. ”With the launch of Samsung Xplorer, Samsung will be able to solidify its position in outdoor phone market and continue to make products that excel in durability and usability.”

Measuring 113 x 49.5 x 17.2mm, it features 1.8 inch display screen, 1.3 megapixel camera with flash and video recording capabilities, FM radio and supports various audio and video formats like 3GP, MP3, AAC, WMA etc.

The B2100 also packs in various other features such as loud external speakers, noise cancellation technology, flash light, support for microSD card slot and its battery life offers upto 9 hours of talktime and upto 600 hours of standby time.

The Samsung Xplorer B2100 phone will be launched in Germany and other European countries in April 2009. The pricing details of the phone are still under wraps.
