HTC announces the worldwide availability of the HTC Touch Pro2 phone

HTC announces the availability of the HTC Touch Pro2 in many markets worldwide as well as in North America. The elegant phone that offers users wealth of features and functions will surely entice users around the world. The twitter channel of HTC confirmed the upcoming release in North America.

The HTC Touch Pro2 phone will be based on Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system but in future it may also run on Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system. The phone features a 3.6 inch WVGA wide touchscreen and a QWERTY keypad. Powered by a 528 MHz processor from Qualcomm, the HTC Touch Pro2 phone integrates a 3.2 megapixel camera.

The company said via its Twitter feed, “To answer the big question on everyone’s minds, the Touch Pro2 will be broadly available in all major markets, including North America. We have not announced a launch date for the Touch Pro2 in any country yet. But we did announce we will start to roll it out late Q2. ”

The phone packs in HTC’s Straight technology and also includes a zoom bar to quickly zoom in and out web pages and emails. The other features included in the phone are a FM radio, speakerphone, internal GPS antenna, 1500 mAh battery, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The phone is expected to ship in early summer 2009. There is no information on its price as of now.
