Samsung augments its portfolio with three Wave smartphones

Samsung had just recently unraveled its Wave II operating on the Bada OS. The company has now brought out new entrants to the Wave series namely the Samsung Wave 533(GT-S5330), Samsung Wave 525 (GT-S5250), and Samsung Wave 575 (GT-S5750). By adding to the already existing lineup it intends to offer mobile enthusiasts a wide range of products to choose from.

All three of these samrtphones offer 100MB internal memory with an expandable memory of up to 16GB. Adorned with 3.2” WQVGA TFT LCD displays, these handsets proffer quick access to Samsung Apps in 2.5G and 3G network environments. These three are social networking centric devices, thus they incorporate an integrated messaging solution that comprises of Email, SNS, SMS, and IM.

These handsets come in attractive pink, white and black, with a slim waistline measuring up to 11.9mm. The Wave 525 works on EDGE, whereas the Wave 575 operates on 3G HSDPA network. The Samsung Wave 533 is designed with a QWERTY keypad. All three of them are fitted with a 3.2MP camera with the ability to record videos and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Loaded with Dolfin 2.0 Browser, these offerings partially support HTML 5.0. They support multi-touch zoom and provide immediate access to Samsung’s Social Hub. With Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, these devices are equipped with an accelerometer and A-GPS. Music aficionados might appreciate the music player featuring Music Recognition, SoundAlive EQ and Music Match.

The current Wave 525 EDGE version is retailing in Russia, whereas the Wave 533 will hit the country by late October. Over a period of time, the handsets will be rolled out in other markets like Asia, Latin America, CIS, Europe, Middle East and Africa. By the month of November this year, the Samsung Wave 575 will be available in Sweden and later in other markets such as Europe, Southeast Asia and China.
