Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X10 has been quite in the news for sometime. Nothing was confirmed by that time but now it has been officially announced that the Xperia X10 phone is marking its first presence through AT&T. Presently available for the U.S. consumers, this handset delivers Sony Ericsson’s Xperia platform in a more enhanced manner and provides them with some unique and entertainment features.

This Android-based handset flaunts a 4” crystal clear touch display and supports a 1GHz Sanpdragon processor. With an 8.1MP camera users can enjoy utmost clarity in images alongside smile detection, face recognition, autofocus and LED flash features. They can store their favorite images in a 2GB internal memory which can be expandable up to 32GB through the microSD card slot.

Paul Hamnett, senior vice president, Sony Ericsson North America, commented, “Sony Ericsson is raising the bar for entertainment-rich phones with the launch of the Xperia X10. With the convergence of our user experience platform and the Android OS, we are bringing consumers a smartphone experience that is not only exciting, but also very refined. Following the successful global launch of the Xperia X10, we are pleased to partner with AT&T to launch this phone in the U.S. market.”

Furthermore, mobile enthusiasts can enjoy an enhanced user experience via its two signature applications Mediascape and Timescape. Through Mediascape, users can browse, search, listen and share their media content like music, photos and videos from the phone’s memory card and online in a unified view. For instance, users can view photos clicked with the device as well as the ones on Facebook and Picasa web albums. While listening to songs, users can click on Sony Ericsson’s infinite button and access related information about the artist, albums, songs and video content from YouTube and also browse results via Google.

Michael Woodward, vice president, Mobile Phone Portfolio, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets, remarked, “Sony Ericsson has created a unique choice for our smartphone customers looking for a fun and smart device.”

Additionally, Timescape application automatically arranges all the social interactions in a chronological order which can be easily accessed while on-the-go. By tapping on the infinite button of Timescape, users can view Facebook, Twitter, and updates to photos, emails and text messages in a single view.
