HTC Legend handset leaps onto Vodafone and 3 mobile

HTC’s homegrown Sense UI has been spotted on a majority of the company’s newer phone offerings. The HTC Legend handset will be available starting from today through Vodafone stores and at a later date on 3 Mobile. Carved out of a single aluminum block, the exterior of the device is smooth and continuous to the touch. It exhibits a 3.2” screen with an AMOLED HVGA display, an optical joystick and a narrow button for comfortable navigation.

The HTC Legend is attributed with a technology that automatically lowers the ringer volume on taking calls and mutes it when the phone is placed face down. Certain data like SMS/MMS, Wi-Fi passwords and so on is stored automatically onto the microSD card. Users are provided with a 3.5mm stereo audio jack and compatibility with social networking sites like Facebook. It integrates HTC Peep for Twitter and Friend Stream. The device aggregates news feeds and keeps users updated through the News widget.

The HTC Legend also includes social media integration with Facebook, HTC Peep for twittering and Friend Stream.

The handset allows sharing of data on Facebook, Flickr, and Twitter as well as upload of videos to YouTube. Users are also ensured password protection and remote data wipe with the phone’s enhanced support for Exchange security. Adobe Flash support enables users to view videos and play games over the internet on the handset.

The HTC Legend will be available through Vodafone stores. It will be available for free on the $49 cap plan or for $599on and outright purchase
