Nokia has added two new TD-SCDMA phones to its kitty. The devices, Nokia X5 and Nokia C5 have been customized for China Mobile. With this announcement, Nokia is said to have expanded its reach to the TD-SCDMA markets and also shows its commitment towards TD-SCDMA devices as a major standard in China.

The two Nokia phones include the first joint mobile application store, the Mobile Market-Ovi Store. Also, users can access the internet via China Mobiles hi-speed 3G (TD-SCDMA) network. Users can also access other applications like CMCC Music, Mobile Video and FEtion IM.

Chris Leong, Senior Vice President, Greater China, Korea & Japan commented that, “Nokia is boosting its leadership in the TD-SCDMA market by strengthening its TD-SCDMA portfolio with products that appeal to a wide range of customers at a range of price points. After the milestone collaboration with China Mobile on the Mobile Market-Ovi Store, we also continue to offer new and stylish devices to satisfy our consumers.”

The Nokia X5 phone has been designed with special emphasis on the music experience for the user. This phone is the first Nokia TD-SCDMA Symbian based entertainment device. Users can access CMCC music with the dedicated music key. The phone will be made available in white, black and red colors.

What more, users can build up on their photo collection by using the 5MP camera with dual LED flash and video recording functions. Later, users can view their favorite images and video on the 2.4-inch QVGA 16M color TFT display. The phone assures an overall mobile entertainment experience with the MM-Ovi Store, mobile video, Fetion IM and Mobile Map/Navigation.

The Nokia C5 is all about experiencing mobile internet in a trendy and compact design. The phone has been designed with a stylish stainless steel keypad in a compact form. Users can enjoy rich features and applications like Fetion and 139 mailbox. Furthermore, users can access more services and applications from the MM-Ovi Store. The camera and screen resolution are similar to Nokia X5. Users can take a pick from either silver or black C5.

Nokia X5 will be available in China during the second quarter, while Nokia C5 will come out in the third quarter of 2010. The phones will be introduced at the World Expo Shanghai 2010, and consumers can lay their hands on these devices at the China Mobile Expo area.
