Samsung upgrades Galaxy Spica I5700

Galaxy Spica Samsung Electronics has announced the upgradation of its Galaxy Spica (I5700) smartphone with the newest version of Android, the Android 2.1. The phone promises users new features and unparalleled mobile experience. However, certain features have been kept constant like flawless connectivity, ability to use Google mobile services, interactive media functions and accelerated processor performance.

The upgraded device allows users to customize their screen with nine side-scrolling screens. The phone also features amplified reality technology that gives the user a peek at real-time digital information on the surroundings with the help view-finder from Galaxy Spica’s 3MP camera. The phone also offers widgets, visual bookmarks and PC sync support for easy syncing of the user’s devices. The camera has also been upgraded to bring better clarity to pictures.

The phone has impressive features like 3.2-inch HVGA TFT display, 3MP camera, Bluetooth 2.1, USB 2.0, MicroUSB and WiFi. The phone gives full web browsing experience on HSDPA 3.6Mbps (900/2100) and EDGE/GPRS (850/900/1800/1900) and operates on the Android version 2.1. Galaxy Spica comes with 180MB internal memory expandable up to 32GB. One can view videos in MPEG4, H.263, H.264, WMV and DivX, and listen to audio in MP3, AAC, ACC+, eACC+ and WMA. The device runs Google mobile services such as Google Search including search by voice, Gmail, Contacts, Google Talk, Google Maps, YouTube and Android Market.

The upgraded version is to be made available in Germany this month, followed by Europe, Southeast Asia, Middle East, Asia, Africa and rest of the world.
