The freshly released Phones 4u JUMP contract appears to be an interesting concept and could appeal to those who tend to get bored of their handsets fast. The Just Upgrade My Phone scheme or JUMP lets customers upgrade their mobile phone to any other smartphone after every 6 months.
The plan does not require users to pay an upfront fee and instead they would simply have to lease their existing handset. Although this contract was launched in May last year, it could be availed of through only 100 stores in the UK as a trial. But now, it will be rolled out to all retail outlets in the nation. For upgrading the mobile phone every 6 months, consumers will have to pay an initial monthly fee ranging between £2.99 and £3.99.
“Technology is moving fast and innovative handsets are launching all the time on the market but to date there’s been a disconnect between the frequency of smartphone releases and the length of mobile phone contracts on offer. We want to give our customers the freedom to own the very latest smartphones like the iPhone 4S without having to wait 18-24 months for an upgrade. The idea for JUMP was born out of research we conducted that revealed people were frustrated by the inability to upgrade their handsets sooner,” explained Alistair Firth, Director of Customer Development at Phones 4u.
Current mobile devices can be exchanged for any one from the variety of latest smartphones that the company has on offer. Phones 4u states that all the gadgets will be new and worth £100 for the first 12 months. There are different kinds of JUMP schemes which basically let consumers enjoy the experience of using a new model at a cost efficient rate.
The Phones 4u JUMP contract will be available through its stores in the UK as well as phones4u.co.uk and telesales.
