Netflix For Android

The Netflix for Android app has recently received upgrades in the form of new features and improvements. Updated to version 1.7, this movie streaming tool has been revamped for smartphones as well as tablets running the Android mobile platform.

One of the changes is the enhancement in the audio and video syncing process. The highlight of this update is the addition of on-screen volume controls for Android tablet users. They will now be able to adjust the sound through the newly incorporated software volume controls in lieu of the standard hardware ones that pop up right in front of the display screen while the video or movie is playing. This volume slider is located at the top right hand corner of the screen.

Android Community reports that certain issues which were present before and posed as hindrances to the smooth operation of the app have been resolved. These include discrepancies in audio, stuttering and screen flickering. The application seems to have been considerably improved for Android slates.

Another new feature that the Netflix application now boasts of is Facebook sharing. It will allow users to share video links and movies on the popular social networking website via their Android smartphones and tablets. However, this function has not been made available for the U.S. and can only be employed by those residing in the UK, Ireland, Latin America and Canada.

The updated Netflix for Android app can now be downloaded for free from the Android Market.
