The Google+ website for mobile phones has been updated with new features while certain redundant ones have been removed. The highlights of this upgrade are the new What’s Hot stream and the ability to view who +1′d a post.

Mobileburn reports that Google has scrapped the Incoming column feature which many found to be quite confusing and was thus not used very often. It has been replaced by a new functionality called the What’s Hot column. It allows users to view the most interesting, trending and popular contents currently being shared on the social networking website with just a simple tap of the thumb. For using this feature, all handset owners have to do is swipe to the right of their Circles stream.

Although users could not see who +1′d a post in the stream, they can do so now through this update by simply clicking on the +1 count situated below the post. These two functionalities are said to enhance the browsing experience and let users share content with others in an easier and more convenient manner. Launched last year, Google + is a free social networking site which lets members connect with each other through a variety of features such as Circles, Hangouts, Search and games.

The company states that users can now experience the revamped Google+ mobile website on their handsets. These new features are scheduled to soon make their debut on the basic web app as well as the Android and iOS applications.
