It looks like manufacturers have been seeing a lot of potential in Siri and users can look forward to accessories for the said software, with one of them being the ThinkGeek Iris 9000. This voice control module allows users to communicate with Siri from a distance.
The device is made up of a cradle which carries the iPhone 4S, along with a micro remote which connects with the main body and lets users talk into it. The aforementioned remote can be operated within a range of 50 feet, when the handset is placed in the cradle.
The utility gets activated with a single tap on the remote. After that, users can talk to Siri and listen to its reply from anywhere within the prescribed radius. The integrated microphone picks up users’ voices from across the space, while the embedded speaker amplifies spoken responses by Siri.
Other than Siri, this gadget also has use for attending calls. For this, Iris will act like a standard speakerphone. Designed and manufactured by ThinkGeek, this product is compatible only with the recently released iPhone 4S.
Considering the novelty and upcoming availability of the iPhone 4S, the manufacturer has declared that the shipments of this device with classic styling and aluminum accents will be based on the email requests it receives. The Iris 9000 by ThinkGeek can be grabbed for a price of $59.99. It is expected to start shipping by spring of next year.
