Binatone’s new creations promise an end to problems like mobile call drops and missing calls on landlines in the U.K. Binatone iDect Link Plus, a link-to-mobile home phone and Binatone iDect Freedom, a home phone with digital hands-free handset are its latest additions to the iDect range.
The iDect Link Plus, as the name says, can be linked with a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone. With this, users can make or receive mobile phone calls through landline phones, thus avoiding the problem of call drops/mobile black spots. Also, one can use the landline through mobile network to make calls, thus using inclusive mobile minutes rather than facing huge mobile bills.
Another device brought out along with Link Plus is the iDect Freedom, a home phone with a digital cordless headset. Along with a Bluetooth headset, it allows the use of landline without the hassle of carrying a handset. The headset can be used in a range of 300m, 30 times more than regular Bluetooth. Also, it has 5 polyphonic melodies along with 5 standard ringer melodies.
Other than its individual functions, both Freedom and Link Plus come with features like built-in answering machine, energy saving ECO mode and speakerphone. Enhanced with blue backlit display, they provide a talk time of about 10 hours and standby of nearly 100 hours.
The iDect freedom is available at a suggested retail price of £69.99(twin) and £79.99 (triple) whereas the iDect link plus is available at £29.99(single) and £49.99(twin). Depending on the environment, terrain and other factors, these devices may or may not be work with all mobile phones. They are said to be compatible with Nokia, Apple iPhone, BlackBerry, Samsung, HTC and several other smartphones.
